Train the Trainer
April 2, 2007, August 6, 2007, & December 3, 2007
Train the Trainer is intended to provide basic know-how on adaptive technologies and to provide future trainers with teaching tools and hand-outs for the end learner.
Many organizations are providing limited training on adaptive technology to their customers, students or staff in a variety of different software packages. They do not plan to provide in-depth training, and often only expect to provide training on one specific application periodically. Unfortunately, they are concerned with how to prepare a staff person to provide a basic training on many applications and only at infrequent intervals.
Train the Trainer is ideal for institutions that provide adaptive technology to a constant stream of new users such as a schools, senior citizen centers and libraries. The course will cover operating system basics, adaptive technology basics for screen readers, screen magnification, voice recognition and more. The exciting course will also give tips for teaching to people with disabilities.
Course content will be available on the web and class discussion will take place either by e-mail or on a discussion board. Both will be entirely asynchronous. An optional synchronous online chat meeting may also be scheduled.
This exciting course is brought to you by a dynamic partnership between Equal Access to Software and Information (EASI) and TecAccess.
