Accessibility Compliance Audits & Testing
TecAccess performs Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) accessibility assessments of the client's existing and future IT/Web products and services-- either developed internally or procured-- using state-of-the-art diagnostic and validation testing techniques.
We evaluate client IT/Web products, including Internet/Intranet/Extranet sites and complex IT applications, by employing testers that are themselves disabled and knowledgeable on ADA, Section 508 standards, W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines, and a variety of popular assistive technology hardware and software devices. We are convinced that this approach is superior to other methods.
Our compliance assessments and audits are comprehensive and well documented. Accessibility deficiencies are identified as Critical Deficiencies (must remediate to comply with standards) or Important Deficiencies (not a standards violation, but should be remediated to enhance accessibility to users of popular assistive technology). Additionally, we generally offer usability recommendations as a by-product of our assessments and audits.

Assessment Testing
In order to create an accessible product, it is necessary to approach the process in two phases:
- The first phase is diagnostic and meant to identify deficiencies in need of remediation.
- The second phase is one of validating that the product has been modified and is now accessible.
Accessibility Testing/Assessment
TecAccess will evaluate, test, and recommend strategies to agencies and organizations for implementing accessibility standards.
Similarly, the TecAccess staff will evaluate the functional usability of these products for those with special needs.
This test plan consists of the following components:
- Identify project information and components to be tested.
- Enumerate the recommended accessibility requirements for the test.
- Recommend and describe the testing strategies to be employed.
- Identify required resources and provide an estimate for the test efforts.
- List the deliverable elements of the test project.
Testing Staff
The TecAccess testing personnel assigned to this project may be blind, vision impaired, hearing impaired, deaf, motor impaired, or have cognitive impairments, or a combination of disabilities.
Thus, our testing staff can evaluate the recommended technology solutions from the actual perspective of those intended to benefit from this assistive technology.
TecAccess also employs a smaller control group of testers without disabilities.
Our clients therefore benefit from our staff's ability to take the evaluation process beyond scientific guesswork and statistical probabilities. Since our staff relies on assistive technology, we are able to provide meaningful, reliable test assessments.
Assistive technologies (AT) are hardware and software items designed or used to compensate for areas of disability or impairment. Assistive technology allows individuals with disabilities comparable access to information and technology as their peers who are not disabled.
One example of such technology is computer-generated voice output of scanned printed material. An individual with impairment, such as dyslexia or blindness, can use this AT to provide effective access to this material.
Deliverables
Below are the reports that will be generated, as appropriate, for your custom testing requirements.
Compliance Report:
Our Compliance Report will provide a comprehensive assessment specifying an overall level of accessibility.
The report will incorporate an evaluation with detailed comments on how your product compares with the appropriate state of the art benchmarks in use today.
Accessibility Report:
The Accessibility Report is a compilation of data gleaned from the complete testing process and presented in a summary format.
This deliverable provides a detailed description of the deficiencies of your product as it relates to our testing criteria and offers possible solutions.
VPAT:
The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) was created by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).
GSA encourages all vendors interested in conducting business with the Federal Government to complete this form and make it available on the vendor's website.
This form allows the government to compare compliance to the Section 508 standards among competing vendors.
TecAccess Seal of Approval
(Available after Successful Validation Testing)
TecAccess provides our "Seal of Approval" icon for our clients to proudly display after the final assessment is complete.

The TecAccess "Seal of Approval" tells customers and associates that you have had your product, website, or service tested by a professional testing company that hires people with disabilities as testers.
The seal may be displayed with your tested product.
(Note: Any revisions or changes made to the product after our testing that may affect its accessibility may require re-testing before the seal may be applied.)
Assistive Technology Services
These services include accessibility assessments of the client's existing or future Information Technology and Web products and services-- whether developed internally or procured-- using state-of-the-art diagnostic and validation testing techniques with assistive technology.
