Rockville, VA - April 15, 2010 -- TecAccess, a leading provider of risk management and accessible Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), announced today that it will offer free accessibility Risk Audits to attendees of the 16th Annual GSA Training Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida, May 4-6, 2010. TecAccess, who holds an Information Technology Schedule 70 contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), makes its accessibility services available through GSA with the goal of simplifying the procurement challenge. Through its GSA Schedule 70 contract, TecAccess helps prospective government clients focus on what matters most -- efficiently assessing and resolving critical accessibility challenges and Section 508 standards that are required for all Federal agencies and vendors.
TecAccess has chosen to offer its free accessibility Risk Audits at the 2010 GSA Training Conference & Expo as a way to improve the legal posture for the 9,000-plus attendees. As GSA´s signature training conference and exposition, this event is specially designed to benefit federal, state and local government employees and military members who make or influence procurement decisions.
"The GSA conference is an invaluable experience for acquisition and program managers," explained Debra Ruh, Founder and CEO of TecAccess. "We are offering all attendees a chance to receive our award winning, free Risk Audits as a way to ensure that Federal agencies and vendors are aware of -- and prepared for - mounting changes in accessibility guidelines and mandates that impact human resources, IT, communications, and risk management departments in all levels of government."
2009 produced major accessibility changes that all agencies and vendors must now be prepared to address in 2010 and beyond, such changes as WCAG 2.0, the pending Section 508 Refresh, the recent Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments (ADAA), and the soon to be ratified UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which includes IT accessibility mandates. To receive a Risk Audit, GSA Expo & Conference attendees should stop by the TecAccess booth, #1506, and state the phrase, "Make 2010 Accessible to All" to be entered into a daily drawing for the Risk Audits. TecAccess officials will announce winners each day at booth 1506 along with complimentary coffee and light refreshments.
TecAccess, who is SBA 8(a) certified, has worked with Federal agencies for over 10 years. Having the GSA Schedule 70 allows TecAccess to pursue additional contracts and support the agencies with a streamlined procurement vehicle.
