Debra Ruh to Join ODEP-PCPID Forum on Employment of People with Intellectual Disabilities

Rockville, VA - September 4, 2008 -- Debra Ruh, founder of TecAccess, the leading provider of accessibility and workforce solutions for people with disabilities, has been invited to participate in the September 8, 2008 ODEP-PCPID Forum on Employment of People with Intellectual Disabilities. The President´s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities (PCPID) is mandated to prepare an annual report to the President. The Committee´s 2009 report will address employment. The report will focus on four basic areas:

Noteworthy is the fact that the PCPID 2009 Report to the President will discuss the role of research and public awareness in each of the four focus areas. In its advisory role, the Committee will use the Report as a vehicle for transmitting policy recommendations to the White House. The President´s Committee has recently been collaborating with the United States Department of Labor, Office on Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) to co-sponsor the one day employment forum.

Debra Ruh was invited to participate due to TecAccess´ considerable expertise in the area of employment of people with intellectual disabilities and the company´s prospective contribution to realization of the goal of the Committee to promote and support successful employment for people with intellectual disabilities. Ruh will share her company´s perspective, including the role of research and public awareness, as appropriate. The forum proceedings will provide the basis for the PCPID 2009 Report to the President.
