NBC 12, www.nbc12.com, offers the largest broadcast news staff in Central Virginia with 5 hours of award-winning news each weekday. Andrea McDaniel, co-anchor of NBC 12 News Today, interviewed TecAccess employees for the new segment, which will air in late October.

Debra Ruh, founder of TecAccess, spoke to McDaniel at length regarding the leading accessibility company´s mission to assist the Commonwealth of Virginia in the recently adopted Virginia IT Accessibility Standards for all agencies. Ruh explains that each agency has been tasked with developing and executing a plan to ensure Section 508 technical requirements are met and all IT products and services are fully accessible to people with disabilities. Helping Virginia with these ground breaking efforts, Ruh´s team is currently utilizing expert accessibility consultants with disabilities. This industry leading practice uniquely positions TecAccess to realistically evaluate compliance, accessibility, and usability from the perspective of people with disabilities.
Also interviewed by NBC 12 was Edward Ziegler, Senior Accessibility Consultant, who demonstrated various assistive technologies, such as voice activated software. Ziegler, who has limited use of his hands, is known worldwide for his accessibility expertise and knowledge of best practices in accessible technology. NBC 12 will share Ziegler´s insight, along with Debra Ruh, on Everyday Miracles in its debut episode that will soon be announced.
