Rockville, VA-- March 9, 2005-- TecAccess, a worldwide leader in electronic and information technology (E&IT), is privileged to welcome Richard Hodgkinson of Hampshire, United Kingdom, as the newest Senior Accessibility Consultant.

Mr. Hodgkinson, who served at the Accessibility Center of Competence at the IBM Corporation software lab at Hursley Park, Winchester, in England since 2002, will now offer TecAccess his extensive accessibility knowledge and experience in worldwide IT accessibility standards and regulations.

While working in software development for more than 35 years, Richard represented the United Kingdom and Sweden on several International (ISO) and European committees that developed standards that address accessibility, documentation, and icons for software products. As the editor of a number of ISO standards, such as the new ISO 9241 part 171 (Guidance on Software Accessibility), he is frequently featured in global workshops, conferences, and technical journals.

As a Fellow of the UK Institute of Scientific Technical Communicators (ISTC), Richard has presented throughout the U.S., Europe, Singapore, and Australia. Likewise, his articles on international standards regularly appear in the ISTC Communicator, as well as in the Australian and New Zealand version, the Southern Communicator. Honored with the "Horace Hockley" Award from the ISTC, Richard was recently invited to join the European standards committee, which will be developing a standard to provide a set of access symbols for video and ICT devices.
