Rockville, VA-- June 5, 2003-- The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has recently chosen TecAccess, a worldwide leader in finding solutions for Information Technology (IT) Accessibility and Section 508 Compliance. PBGC has selected TecAccess to ensure that everyone, especially pension recipients with disabilities, can utilize its website, publications, forms, and consulting services to the fullest extent.

TecAccess will consult, test and train PBGC´s employees on IT Accessibility and Section 508 issues. It will also use a proprietary testing process to evaluate each technological component by scoring it, rating it, and then combining it with other functions to generate an overall rating.

Section 508 is the amendment to the Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973 that was signed into law by President Clinton in 1998. It requires all federal departments, agencies, contractors, and federally funded companies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. The law covers the development, maintenance, procurement, and use of these technologies.
