TecAccess Receives BPA from OPM

Richmond, VA, January 19, 2005-The United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has awarded TecAccess, a worldwide leader in electronic and information technology (E&IT) and Section 508 solutions, a blanket purchase agreement (BPA). The agreement will allow TecAccess to support the government agency´s Section 508 program. The Virginia-based company will provide consulting, testing, and training services.

OPM selected TecAccess to assist with its Section 508 initiatives because of TecAccess´s outstanding reputation in the federal market place. Moreover, both OPM and TecAccess are deeply committed to supporting persons with disabilities.

"We are honored to be awarded the blanket purchase agreement and to have been selected as OPM´s Section 508 partner," said Debra Ruh, President and Founder of TecAccess. "We believe that OPM has the potential to be a solid leader in the Section 508 arena. Since OPM supports all other agencies with HR functions, it is exciting to see their continued commitment to Section 508 compliance."

TecAccess Receives "The Best Company" Awards

Style Weekly and Career Climber, both awarding-winning publications in the Richmond Metro area, have announced this year´s coveted Best Company Awards. Making the list was TecAccess, a leader in Information Technology Accessibility and Section 508 Solutions.

TecAccess, which hires persons with disabilities to assist private and public entities in making technology more accessible, was nominated and received an honorable mention in the category of "The Company Staying Truest to Mission." The Best Company Awards, an annual event throughout Virginia, draws record amounts of submissions and only those demonstrating exceptional performance are spotlighted.

Pointing out the mission of Debra Ruh, founder of TecAccess, Style Weekly and Career Climber noted the company´s belief in the abilities of their associates, representing millions of disabled persons who want and need access to today´s online technologies. The Best Company Award reaffirms TecAccess´ commitment to opening corporate doors that had previously been closed to employees with disabilities.

TecAccess Launches Multimedia Presentation

TecAccess, a worldwide leader in electronic and information technology (E&IT) accessibility and Section 508 solutions, recently launched its first multimedia presentation. Developed by Kelley Kramer, TecAccess Program Manager, the fully captioned presentation is an overview of the Virginia-based company´s services and clientele. Photographs of TecAccess associates are featured throughout the video.

"We developed the multimedia presentation to help clients better understand our corporate capabilities," Kramer explains. "As a result, we´ve decided to add accessible multimedia production to our suite of services."

Google Catches On to TecAccess

Right on the heels of the TecAccess´ "Best Company" recognition, Google Alert included TecAccess as part of their daily advertisement for subscribers across the world. Entitled "Accessibility and Section 508," Google highlighted TecAccess for the recent achievements.

TecAccess Invited to speak at the CSUN International Conference

Debra Ruh, President and Founder, will teach a workshop at the International Conference on Technology and Persons with Disabilities in March 2005. The workshop, entitled "Section 508 Overview and e-Learning/Multimedia Compliance Certificate Course," will be presented by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and highlights their new Section 508 certification program. TecAccess was instrumental in helping USPTO to achieve its current standard of Section 508 compliance.

TecAccess Shares Accessibility Advice with Radio Audience

TecAccess associate Jesse Evans and President Debra Ruh were invited to share recent developments in the world of accessible technology with the listeners of WHAN 1430 AM on February 4, 2005. Accompanying the accessibility experts was Debra´s daughter, Sara, who also shared her insight into employment and technology issues affecting persons with disabilities. The lively segment aired during peak listening time, 5pm, with popular radio host Roger Reynolds as the inquisitive interviewer. Breaking the news on accessibility trends and Section 508, the TecAccess team received such a warm response that they have been invited back for the early morning wake up show to further promote technology for all users.

TecAccess Noted for Growth

TecAccess was recognized by the Hanover Herald-Progress for its blistering growth and recent worldwide popularity this month. The Herald-Progress, a weekly publication covering major events in Hanover County as well as global news, featured founder and president, Debra Ruh, in a January 13th article that storied the company´s rise to fame.
